Glutathione Therapeutic Use
Aug 17, 2025| Studies both domestically and internationally have shown that the sustained response rate (ALT normalization, DNA seroconversion, and HBeAg seroconversion) of thymosin α1 alone in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B is approximately 37%, similar to that of interferon alone, but without the toxic side effects of interferon.
Clinical studies in Taiwan using thymosin α1 for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B have demonstrated a delayed therapeutic effect. After the end of thymosin α1 treatment, there is a transient increase in ALT, accompanied by HBeAg seroconversion and loss of HBV DNA.
The superiority of HBV DNA seroconversion and seroconversion suggests that thymosin α1 alone has long-term efficacy in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B without significant adverse effects. High-dose thymosin α1 is particularly effective in patients with advanced liver fibrosis.
